Canoe Forest Stewardship Plan

A Commitment to the
Future of our Forests.

We work closely with a number of different interest groups, First Nation communities and industry stakeholders to ensure that all our operations- from harvest to replanting- are fully committed to sustainable forest management. Through careful planning at the landscape and operational level, and by utilizing site sensitive harvesting methods, we can manage the impact on our forests to ensure all soil and water resources are healthy now and far into the future.

Canoe Forest Stewardship Plan.

As part of the Gorman group of companies, Canoe Forest Products is committed to the Forest Stewardship Plan (FSP) , whichis now approved and in effect until Sept. 30, 2028. The FSP is a plan required by the Forest and Range Practices Act; rather than proposing individual harvest blocks and roads, the FSP shows broad Forest Develpment Units for which the Licensee makes commitments in the forms of results or strategies. These commitments must be consistent with resource objectives set by the provincial government.

To help the public better understand our FSP, we prepare an annual update that shows proposed harvest blocks and roads. To download a copy of the FSP or to view the latest proposed development, simply follow the links below. Proposed harvest block and road locations are available as digital Google Earth files.

Proposed
harvest plans.

Our proposed harvest plans will be published periodically on Forest Operations Maps which show the detailed locations of planned harvest blocks and roads. These maps can be viewed on the Provincial FOM website.  Comments can be submitted through the FOM website during the 30 day commenting period. Written comments on any of our proposed forest management activities are welcomed throughout the planning and development process. Comments can be emailed to: info@canoefp.com, or sent to the main office, Attention: Woodlands.
